And I know that Mother's Day is in May. My class made these in May and I should have posted about them in May, but...
But I promise I have a really good excuse which I will share with you later.
Here's an adorable art project for Mother's Day! Really you could use it for anything... a regular 'thank you' gift for volunteers or teacher appreciation. That's why I love it. It's so versatile!
Last year, I made these little nuggets o' fun. But this year, I wanted to try something new!
- 12x18 white construction paper (1 per student)
- Skinny crayola markers
- Oil pastels
- 18x24 black construction paper, trim to fit as border (1 per student)
Students brainstormed nice compliments/praises about their mom. They wrote 5-6 sentences. Then they took the sentences and 'spun' them into a circle, starting on the inside and moving out.
I let the kids decorate the backgrounds however they liked. There were a lot of great ideas!
Overall, I was really pleased with the final products!
Hopefully one day, I'll get an adorable art project of my own.
And I just might, since...
That's right! I'm having a baby!
Which is exactly why I've been SO tired and have had no energy to blog. But my spirits are coming back full-force, friends! Just in time for summer.
So Happy belated Mother's Day!
