April Currently

I'm way late to the Currently party this month.  I mean, shoot, it's practically May.

It could be because today I have busy scrubbing the bathroom floor with a toothbrush and volunteering at the local animal shelter.

It could be that. But really I just went shopping.

You know how things are going great with your makeup -- one day, there you are with plenty of eyeliner and bronzer and such -- and then suddenly, BAM! You go to put make-up on in the morning, so as to not scare the children, and you have no eyeliner or blush and your eye shadow looks like a miniature Paul Bunyan went a-yodeling through the colors.

That happened to me today.

So after school, I went to the mall.  I bought new makeup! Yay! New makeup is the best.

Thank goodness, too, because I wouldn't want to blog without any on.

Listening: I love rain! I hope it does rain, but it usually never does here. It's probably better if it doesn't.  That way I can wear my new make-up somewhere.

Loving: It just so-ho happened that Macy's had a free Clinique gift today! Yes!! Clinique makeup bags make-me so happy.  This is mostly because the one I have from the last free gift is so trashed and has ugly mascara streaks. How does that even happen? Sigh.

Thinking: Our Spring Open House is just a few days away. My kiddos are hard at work on various projects. It's exhausting!

Wanting: You read that right. A she-beer. That's what my husband recently named milkshakes. Isn't it so true?
I could she-beer it all night long!

Needing: Spring Break. Most of you had Spring Break two hundred million years ago. But I did not. Mine is next week!

Advice: I love advice from Eleanor Roosevelt. This is a favorite! Very true for blogging, and even more true for just teaching.  Kindness goes a long way!

"To handle yourself, use your head; to handle others, use your heart."

Use your head. Yes mam.  Your face is on your head. And that's why you need new makeup.

"Honey, Eleanor Roosevelt said I need to buy new makeup!"

"Uh huh."

Whatever. I need a she-beer.

Happy April friends!!

  1. Haha! I could totally get wasted on she-beers! I love it. Hello to another second grade blogger, also from So Cal! We had some rain here in the AM, but thankfully it cleared up and we had some sunshine this afternoon, and it *almost felt like Spring! I'm loving all the great ideas you've got on here. I'll definitely be coming back. I'm your newest follower!

    Thanks! :) Samantha

  5. Lol I know exactly how you feel about new make-up. My make-up bag is currently covered with smudges of mascara and nasty swipes of concealer- I don't know how that happened either! Thanks for giving me a good giggle and I'm your newest follower :)

  6. I am always shocked when I run out of mascara - I don't know why, the tube is so small, but I expect it to last forever. Have a great spring break!

  7. I love the idea of she-beer! And I'm glad you posted about clinique. I'm in need of some foundation and was wondering if they had any fun gifts going on. The past few times I've been in, they haven't! I may have to head over to Macy's today!

  8. Darn, now I want a She-Beer. Looks like someone is headed to the ice-cream shop at the end of her street. Yes!!! I have an ice-cream shop AT THE END OF MY STREET!!!! It's dangerous. Luckily I can't busted with an open container for a She-Beer!

One more week till Spring Break...I hope it goes by quickly for you but draaaaaags for me!

We really enjoy your she-beers but ours might need a vodka floater on top :P
