And I got to meet it all (sans a few very missed people!) face-to-face at the So Cal Blogger Meet Up!
Normally, I spend my Saturdays
Some people, more familiar with the TV shows, might think The OC is a mystical place where everyone has a tan and drives a BMW and gets Botox twice a day.
It could be true for some. But there are also normal people places like Red Robin. Even in The OC, people eat burgers and onion rings.
And thank God for that. Thank. God. for. that.
Here are some highlights from the meet-up! (And the pictures were taken by the lovely Katie from Teacher to the Core. She was a snap-snappin' and that was good because I only brought my iPhone. And it's a a 3GS. Pathetic, I know.)
Twenty amazing bloggers and teachers right here! Do you recognize some of those familiar faces? Sweet Layla from Fancy Free in Fourth was the only fourth grade teacher this time, since Molly over at Lessons with Laughter was busy rescuing kittens or something...
The lovely Kinder teachers are pictured here! Kay from Sommer Pride, Heidi from Heidi Songs (Have you seen those adorable songs? It's enough to make you want to teach Kinder. And that's means a lot coming from me!) Christy from Crayons and Whimsy, Michele from Apples and ABCs (who also rescued me from name tag Haites), Hadar from Miss Kindergarten, and Fran from Kindergarten Crayons (who is like a Common Core Encyclopedia! I'd like to steal her for a day or two to come visit my school and share Common Core knowledge! Also, I didn't almost run her over this time. Score!)
Name tags of the attendees... a few people didn't end up making it. Michele from Apples and ABCs made these last fall and was kind enough to let me use the template!
First grade teachers who rock! Vikki from Traditions Laughter and Happily Ever After, Katie from Teacher to the Core (my planning partner in crime!), Traci from Dragonflies in First (the amazing artist-teacher!!), Tammy and Christy from Fluttering Through First Grade, and Kathy from Coloring Outside the Lines.
That's me with some other Second Grade bloggers! Aris over at Sailing into Second and Katie from A Basket Full of Apples. I was so psyched to meet these cute ladies! And even more excited that I wasn't the only second grade blogger this time!
We did a little raffle!
We also got to spend time with Wendy from Wendy's Bookworks (who brought us all Trader Joe's bags of books! Woot woot!) Shawna from The Picture Book Teacher's Edition (That girl has some great book picks and a searchable book list!) and Annie from The Moffatt Girls (homeschooler extraordinaire!)
Christy and Tammy from Fluttering Through First Grade made these lil' gems... (I took two. Shhhh...)
Seems like it's okay though. By the looks of this picture, they still like me! There's sweet Katie, too, from Teacher to the Core! She was the best planning buddy ever! I'm thinking about planning something, anything with her just so we can talk on the phone again.
What a great day! I just can't wait for the next one! Thanks, Katie for taking all these pictures!
