Five for Friday

For the first time ever, I'm linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for her Five for Friday!

I'm gonna give it to you straight.

For me, the majority of this week was all about over-consumption of diabetic-coma-inducing edibles.  So don't judge that 40% of my Five for Friday is about chocolate.

The big Valentine's Day celebration has come and gone.  As a teacher, it's always fun because you get showered with love and gifts 68 pounds of candy.  Here is a snap shot of my Valentine postmortem.  Where is all that candy, you ask?  It's in my belly.  It's also the reason I slept like crud last night -- too much caffeine.

Umm....

For the love of God. Change the subject!! Look away... look away... from the mutilated box of Tag-a-Longs... My eyes... my eyes!!!

I bought this awesome book and it came this week! I'm excited because it's by my best friend's husband (his brother is the illustrator).  I think he should become my new best friend instead.  Especially if he's going to be writing all sorts of famous books and things. Regardless, it's actually a really cute rhyming story with a funny idea!

Number four is this four-inch, nasty mosquito that was flying around my house. I became very scientific and used a penny for size reference.  Gross, right?

My most exciting second most exciting event this week (it was a lot of candy) was getting a long-awaited pedicure! Since I think it would be weird to show a picture of my own feet, I decided to show a picture of someone's feet who clearly didn't consume 49.6 pounds of candy this week.

How's that for my first Five for Friday?

Hope I didn't disappoint!

Happy Friday!

  2. Tagalongs are my favorite too! Very dangerous this time of year!!! I need to go get my nails done too! Maybe I can find some time this weekend with the extra day off.

  3. I had to get rid off some candy and chocolate. I am sure a few teachers enjoyed it for lunch.
I love the title of the book!

  4. I'm with you on the candy consumption. At least 18 times this past week I said to myself {out loud, probably}...

"WHY AM I EATING THIS?!?!?!!?!?!?!?! I DON'T EVEN LIKE SUGARED-LIP-GUMMY-CANDY OR HOLLOW CHOCOLATE APPLES!!"

And yay for the pedicure, but any pictures of feet gross me out, except maybe a baby's!
