New Year's Resolution Linky & Student Gifts

I saw this linky over at Step into 2nd Grade this morning and was excited to link up with Growing Kinders!

Today is all about Technology! I've got a few favorites that I can't teach without!

1. Brain Pop: I've been neglecting it lately, so my resolution is to use it more this year! My students love these videos -- they're short and content-packed. Awesome resource!

 2. Jeopardy Labs: Want a way to make a fun Jeopardy game online? This site is terrific! There are also premade games you can use for FREE!

3. QuestGarden: This is a great site for computer lab projects that are linked to your other content! You can upload your own WebQuests or download premade quests.

Obviously, I couldn't live without my Macbook, Document Camera, or Projector.  Without those, I couldn't use any of the above sites! Well, I couldn't resolve to use them more, I presume.

My BIG resolution, though, is to get my hands on some iPods for Listen to Reading.  It might be a slow process, but I'm working on it. :) That is the one area of The Daily Five that I've yet to fully embrace.

And now for some fun student gifts!

The absolute BEST part of the holidays are the hand-made notes and goodies your kiddos make for you! I always have such fun reading their little notes.

Here are a couple of my favorites from this year!

I love this little reindeer cookie! What a wonderful idea!  This student made one for each person in the class.  Looks like something the mom saw on Pinterest - anyone know whose idea it is? I'd love to give them some props!!  It's adorable!

This I thought was too funny.  I'm glad to know my *hairs* are appreciated!
What a sweet kiddo!! His mom has taught him well - compliment the ladies!!

This one must have taken a while for my kiddo to make! It was a little envelope with all sorts of notes and "gifts" inside.  So sweet.

My favorite item was this little spinner.  I better watch out, though! One wrong spin will leave me with a 5 minute time out! Yikes!! :)

I'd love to know what cute notes you got this year! And don't forget to link up with Growing Kinders!!

  1. I really like your ideas for integrating technology. I wrote a project up at Donors Choose to get iTouches in my classroom. That may be the way to go to get them for your kiddos too! I am hosting a giveaway and would love for you to stop by and check it out. Happy New Year!
